Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) Verification for SQE Candidates
Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) is a core requirement of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route. For many candidates, understanding how to record, evidence, and verify QWE can feel unclear and stressful — particularly where experience has been gained outside a traditional training contract. Callidus Mediation offers independent QWE verification by a qualified solicitor, providing a clear, compliant, and professional route to completing the SRA application process.
WHAT THIS SERVICE INCLUDES
Independent solicitor verification of QWE
Confirmation that experience meets SRA requirements
Clear, structured, and compliant sign-off process
How the QWE Verification Process Works
Initial Enquiry:
Candidates contact us by email with a brief outline of their QWE and organisations involved. A checklist of required documents is provided.
Document Review
Review of role descriptions, evidence of work undertaken, and confirmation of supervision and competencies. This service
provides a structured, solicitor-led review of qualifying work experience (QWE) to assess whether it meets the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s (SRA) requirements. The review includes examination of evidence, role descriptions and, where
appropriate, supervisor feedback.
Clarification (if required)
A short discussion may take place to clarify experience and alignment with SRA requirements.
Verification & Sign-Off
QWE is only verified when in line with the SRA guidance on what is required to meet the QWE framework. Confirmation of QWE is provided where the reviewing solicitor is satisfied that the evidence demonstrates compliance with SRA regulations and professional obligations.
Once reviewed, if the evidence aligns with the SRA guidance QWE is verified to the SRA in the usual way online, which allows you to then finalise your application to become a Solicitor. No more waiting for in house timescales or for someone to get round to it internally.
Why Use an Independent Solicitor for QWE Verification?
- Reassurance where employer sign-off is unavailable
- SRA-compliant verification
- Reduced risk of rejection or delay
- Clarity in a complex process
This service is particularly helpful for candidates with:
- Paralegal or voluntary experience
- Multiple short-term roles
- Experience gained in non-traditional settings
QWE Verification Fee
£275 (fixed fee)
This includes review, verification and confirmation in accordance with SRA requirements
Note: Discounted pricing may be available when booked alongside SQE interview coaching
